Mom Was Right (Again)

You may have been told as a kid to sit up straight and, as in most things, your mom is probably right.
Good posture is associated with better breathing, fewer headaches, better spine and neck health, and even better core muscle tone! Proper posture is when your body parts align the way that they should when using the right amount of muscle tension to support yourself.
Good posture is when your ears are aligned evenly over your shoulders. Your shoulders should be back and relaxed. Now that you have an idea on what good posture is, make it a habit by daily reminders and meditations to align your spine when sitting, standing, or even walking!

My mother always made a point to make us kids sit up straight and don’t slouch. To this day, I still sit up very straight and others ask me ” why do you sit so perfect” I tell them because my mother would always remind us to sit up straight and she would go behind me and take my shoulders and make me sit straight! Im over 60 right now and I still have pretty good posture. Guess she was right!
Love love love that Jo Anne! Thank you so much for this comment. You know, it’s funny because I also had parents who stressed posture, so it just became a normal habit for me. Now it’s not even hard to have good posture because it was taught by them early on. It’s something that I have so come to appreciate over time. 🙂
