February’s “Miracle” Heart Drug!
Welcome to February, and this is the time of year when people gift their sweetheart a bunch of sweetened hearts (which aren’t actually good for their hearts!).
The good news is that there are actually versions of chocolate that research shows to be SO heart healthy, that they’re like a “miracle drug”, LOL.
This amazing new miracle drug does everything right for your heart,
-
for blood pressure control,
-
for opening your arteries,
-
for preventing the oxidation of the bad cholesterol (definitely a bad thing),
-
and even for stimulating the pleasure centers in your brain (definitely a good thing).
Yeah Right … Show Me The Data
The Journal of the American Medical Association published two clinical trials showing subjects who had at least one cardiovascular disease risk factor showed increased “flow mediated dilation”.
Science-to-English translation: This drug helps open your arteries.
Another study compared two groups of subjects with high blood pressure:
-
one was on this drug, and
-
the other took a placebo.
In only ten days after treatment, blood pressure in the drug group was significantly decreased!
Wait, But Why?
It may be because this new heart medication contains powerful antioxidants that also boost your heart health. For example, Data from the University of California, Davis showed that, after ingestion of this drug, the oxidation of LDL (bad cholesterol) was greatly decreased.
By the way, the ability of this drug to decrease platelet accumulation along your artery walls is a full 6 times greater than red wine!
What is this new miracle drug?
The good news is that it is available over-the-counter, and in generic form: it’s the cocoa found in rich, wonderful chocolate.
The key, of course, to get all the good heart healthy effects of cocoa is to lean toward dark chocolate. This is because darker chocolates have more cocoa and less sugar — so you get more of the good stuff and less of the bad stuff.
Pls SHARE, because some chocophile somewhere could really “take this message to heart”, LOL!
