Make March Mornings Matter

Here are 3 things to get your days off on the right foot:

  • Create Calmness: Embrace the peace of the day by dedicating just 3 minutes to silence. Set an alarm and simply sit and have a moment of silence. Some like to focus on a repetitive prayer or a simple sentence or a word that brings them peace. These few minutes are a good way of helping your body enter the day in a relaxed state. This state also helps you in communicating calmly. Even more, this helps you in thinking clearly to make better decisions at work!

 

  • Rev Up Your Metabolism: After your moment of calm, wake up your metabolism by doing a short burst of strength training. This gets your body ready to process calories all day long! It also helps with blood sugar control and energy too. What will it be for you? Squats while the coffee brews? A set of push-ups before your shower? Or even 2 minutes of lunges before you change into your work gear?

 

  • Added Sugar: Keep your mornings free of added sugar. When we eat foods that contain added sugar, or if we have a concentrated form of sugar in the form of juice, we create sugar cravings all day long. Work towards eliminating those added sugars in your morning cereals, but also in your cup of coffee or tea.

Give these three things a try to make the most of your mornings during March! Consider doing this as a challenge with a friend to make these three actions a part of your daily weekday morning routine for March and beyond.
