Top Ten Tips for March

Top 10 Tips for Nutrition Month:

March is the time of change. A time when winter lets go of its icy grip and spring creeps in, slowly but surely.

For our health, March is a transition time for us to start new as well.

Just like there are new shoots popping up in yards and parks all over the place, we have a chance for a new start too. So embrace these tips as you move through this month. And please let us know if you have any questions at all.

  1. Eat a Variety of Foods – Include a wide range of fruits, vegetables, whole grains, and lean proteins to ensure you’re getting all the essential nutrients your body needs.
  2. Stay Hydrated – Drinking enough water helps with digestion, energy levels, and overall health.
  3. Portion Control – Listen to your body’s hunger cues and be mindful of portion sizes. It’s not just what you eat, but how much you eat that counts.
  4. Prioritize Plant-Based Meals – Incorporate more plant-based foods into your meals like legumes, nuts, seeds, and plant-based proteins to support heart health and reduce inflammation.
  5. Limit Processed Foods – Avoid sugary snacks, fast food, and overly processed items that can contribute to poor health over time. Fresh, whole foods are always your best bet!
  6. Choose Healthy Fats – Opt for healthy fats like avocado, nuts, seeds, and olive oil to support brain function and heart health.
  7. Mindful Eating – Slow down and savor your meals. Being present while eating can improve digestion and help you recognize when you’re full.
  8. Plan Ahead – Set aside time each week to plan and prepare your meals. This can help you make healthier choices and avoid reaching for unhealthy convenience foods.
  9. Get Active – Nutrition is just one part of a healthy lifestyle. Pair balanced meals with regular physical activity for optimal results.
  10. Listen to Your Body – Trust your body’s signals. If you’re feeling tired, stressed, or hungry, adjust your meals to nourish yourself accordingly.

Let’s make this Nutrition Month the start of lasting healthy habits! 💪
