FDA Yanks Kids’ Meds

The FDA did the right thing by pulling these meds, because they identified raw material containers tainted with bacteria that could make immune-compromised people even sicker.
Turns out, though, that the bacteria were brought in from one of the suppliers, the contamination has still not be identified in ANY of the meds themselves …
So, in the end, this was not NEARLY as bad as the headlines made it out to be.

Johnson & Johnson identifies bacteria in Tylenol recall – May. 5, 2010: “The Food and Drug Administration confirmed Wednesday that the bacteria found at the Johnson & Johnson plant that produced the recalled children’s medicines was Burkholderia cepacia, a bacteria often resistant to common antibiotics.
