Hello everyone!!
We have a new space for us to think out loud together, rant and rave (with taste!), and give your thoughts on good food and good health.
So reply to these blog lines and keep the conversation going!

Do you have any plans to write a follow-up to Fat Fallacy or to put together a cookbook? I LOVE the way you described the how-to’s of recipes in your book. Hilarious at times!
Yes, I have about half of the recipes done, but things have slowed as I’ve been developing the website, the Curriculum, the Newsletter, and the rest!!
Thanks for your encouragement … you are the second person this morning who has asked for a cookbook.
A sign?

This is not really anonymous. I am having problems logging on. I am sure that I will figure it out. Anyway, I have a little difficulty with the presentation of meal plans, etc., and I know I am overreacting. I was on the forum site, and I am beginning to notice what I fear is a “dissection” of the FF plan. (Too many years of weight watchers, etc.has made me very leery of this sort of thing) but I am learning that what I naturally love is perfectly healthy, and if I slow down and love my food, I will stop when I am full. I really do see a danger in 1/2 cup this, or 1 slice that. It narrows the focus so that it is a forced regimen, again.
Thanks for letting me rant, a bit. And, I do know that this is just my particular irritation, and many people need guidance on portion control. However, I am curious if anyone else feels this way. I am so convinced about this lovely lifestyle that I am resisting anything that drags me back into an unhealthy focus on food. Will, can’t wait to see the new cookbook.

I love hearing from you Patricia.
The beautiful diversity of humanity hits home on The PATH as well. You are exactly right that some need more structure in their lives while others chafe at it only needing general sketches in which to fill in their own lines.
So, we try to balance the philosophy with the nuts-and-bolts details of weight loss.
I’ll say, over and over, you’ve got to handle the big picture issues of loving your food and developing a better relationship with it … but many need specifics.
I look at this like unique learning styles — I’m personally an auditory learner, whereas Dottie is a visual learner. I have to speak it out loud, and Dottie has to write it.
My only hope is that we stay true to our principles while still providing the concrete program at the same time.
You are so welcome to rant here, Patricia!!
Thanks for sharing your thoughts.

Still can’t log on..hmmm….Thanks for understanding, Will. I do understand your point. To each his own. I have a funny story. My husband and I are outdoor writers/photographers. We were on a canoe trip last Saturday when I swamped my canoe and ended up in the river. When I managed to get back into the canoe (wet and irritated), Jack gave me a piece of dark chocolate that he had put in the first aid kit. It was heavenly, and, I am quite sure that it save me from trauma. Thought you would like to know. Chocolate works!

O.k., I think I have the connection problem figured out, or will today.
I am really ranting this time. For a solid six months, I have been telling my disbelieving extended family about this program. We are all good cooks, well educated and traveled. I have told everyone about how it works. I have said before that their eyes just glaze over, and I gave up. I had lunch with my brother yesterday. He is close to a 150 pounds overweight, and prides himself that he is a “gourmet.” Yesterday, he looked at me and said , “You know that the French Paradox diet has been unraveled? It is portion size! They don’t eat as much as we do, and I don’t know how they keep up their strength. ” I almost fell off my chair. Good grief! I have only told him this about a million times, and suddenly, he reads it in a magazine, and he acts like this is the first time he has heard this. Will, I know that this grant is critical. We have some real education to do in this country.
