Heart Health Week Hangs A Left: About That Wine
All week, we’re going off-road to explore heart health along paths you knew were there, but are definitely the road less traveled by conventional sources.
Okay, let’s say your doctor gave you a prescription to take some medication one time per day. You, however, thought if 1 is good, 6 would be GREAT!
If you turned green and wretched for a week, well that wouldn’t be the medication’s fault would it? It would have actually helped you if you’d taken it as recommended.
Red Wine is exactly like that — great for your heart (among other things) at one dose, bad for your liver (among other things) at another. If it turns out to be good for you, that’s because you took it as recommended. If it turns out to turn your liver into a brick, that’s not really about the wine is it?
So if you can’t follow simple instructions, and can’t keep it to 1-2 per day (that’s glasses, not bottles!!), don’t even start. And if that is you, it’s really too bad because wine is a wonderful thing to go with your food or just as a delicious part of your day.
