Water Your Mind
The human brain is walled off behind a thick bony skull for a reason. It’s running the whole show from up there, and so it needs to be protected from the insults that can cause you to sense, think, and act poorly.
If you want to stay at your own personal peak performance, you can’t dehydration slow you down.
First of all, that’s because the brain consists of about 75% water, which is the matrix inside which the axons fire off with your encoded thoughts and dreams and movements and feelings. So even mild dehydration slows blood flow, which can decrease the oxygen travelling through the brain. Decreased oxygen can can affect mood, and you may find yourself more irritable.
However, with even more prolonged dehydration thinking ability can become compromised, cognitive function suffers, and you may find yourself confused more often.
The solution is simple, and it doesn’t involve doing crosswords, sudoku, or other mental puzzles all day. The first, simplest solution is to water your mind. Stay hydrated.
