Implications of Isolation
In an exhaustive review in the medical journal The Lancet, researchers confirmed what we all likely knew. Looking at 24 studies with quarantine conditions across 10 countries, they showed that this can major negative psychological impact on people.
To help avoid these negative effects, including anxiety, depression, anger, etc., the authors urge communication early an often with each other. This kind of communication with loved ones, friends, and family can help reduce the risk of falling into the negative spiral.
One clear implication of these findings is that our innate human need for connection can create mental health issues if we are isolated without context or communication. Fortunately, clearly stating the reason and rationale for isolation, along with outlets for communicating with others, can lessen the effects.

I think as an introvert and a writer has made it a little bit easier to handle the isolation. Although, I’ve had to stop by a store every not and then, I have to be careful because of immune issues. I’m grateful we live in the country, where I can go outside and walk my Cairn terrier. I’ve been trying to focus more on the blessings and positive things around me.
This is a challenge for everyone. I pray this will be an opportunity for people to grow closer in friendship and love. Thank you for all the information you share on this blog. I appreciate it!
Dear Tambra,
Thank you so much for this note, I really appreciated it and 100% agree with you that I hope this will be an opportunity for people to grow closer. I hope we “find the good”, as you seem to be doing.
Thanks again, and would love to hear more of your thoughts over time!
